INTRODUCTIONS

Faith21.org is brought to you by a group of young disciples of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to bring the Word of God into our visitor's lives in provocative, inspiring and fresh ways.

The Faith21.org website is geared towards helping us all Live in the 5th Act (what does that mean?).  To that end, we provide teaching articles, inspirational articles, and information to help us all take action in the world around us.

Faith21 is not officially affiliated with any particular church, but most of us are members of the TurningPoint Church in Los Angeles.

You can read our Statement of Faith for information on our beliefs. If you have more questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

HISTORY

The Faith21 ministry (formerly called WordWorkers) began around 2004 with a group of members in the TurningPoint Church, back then called the AMS (Arts Media Sports), who wanted to go deeper in their own Bible Study. For the first couple of years, the group got together on a regular basis to study various books on the Bible and share about their own personal Bible Study.

In 2006, the WordWorker group first began publishing the LampLight magazine, now called Faith21 Magazine. That same year the first Bible Study Seminar was held.

The website came along a year later.

To God be the Glory! We cannot wait to see what else he has in store for us.

Scott loves movies, God, movies, and eating, thinking, movies and did I mention movies.

James grew up in Mississippi fascinated by storytelling and movies. He graduated from UCLA film school, where he became a disciple in 1990. He has grown up in the AMS/Turning Point ministry ever since. Today he is happily married and teaches elementary school in Compton.

The son of missionaries, Joseph grew up with a hunger for God's word. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his beautiful wife and daughter. Joseph works as a technology consultant while he dreams of serving God in some form of teaching ministry.

Susan became a Christian in 1991 and has served in several ministries in San Francisco and Los Angeles.  A graduate from UCLA, Susan currently leads the Grief Recovery ministry and has a passion to spread the much needed program throughout the world.  She is happily married to Joseph Dindinger and the mother of their beautiful daughter Juliana.

James DonVito
Artist

James grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from Art Center College in Design in 1995. In the year 2000, while living his dream of working as an illustrator in the entertainment industry, he became a follower of Jesus and crossed a major turning point in his life. Today he aspires to use his creative talents to inspire others of the awe and wonder of God and his incredible works.

Shaela works as a substitute teacher and actress in Los Angeles while pursuing her own creative endeavors (like writing and painting, among other things). Her dream is to use her talents to help people know God and believe in his love for them. She also has a passion for the young, and hopes to inspire them by stirring their imagination.

A native Californian, David grew up in Burbank where he currently works and lives. He became a Christian in 1990 in what would eventually become the AMS/Turning Point Ministy.

Joy moved to L.A. from the Midwest in 1993 and became a christian shortly after. She is married and has three children. Her middle child, Samuel, was adopted from Ethiopia. Joy has a passion for adoption and for serving the poor and needy. Her dream is to use her creative writing to draw people closer to God while inspiring them to actively make the world a better place.

Raised by a pack of wild dingoes in Australia's outback, Dan learned early in life that we are responsible for what we do...unless we are celebrities. Entering his fourth year of teaching AP U.S. History at Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills, he is living proof that if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life. Dan loves God, his family, and soccer - in that order. P.S. Cristiano Ronaldo is the most over-rated player in soccer history.

Kimba has been a Christian for 13 years and thoroughly enjoys writing, watching movies and taking romantic moonlight walks with her friend Barbara's cat, Jerry.

Vanessa Hill

Vanessa is a native of sunny Cal/LA who graduated with a BA in Performing Arts/Dance. She’s very active in sports with her amazing husband and daughter. Vanessa enjoys the arts involving all cultures, and has a passion searching for the treasures that the WORD beholds.  Her dream is to always fill her home with many people, having many discussions, and bringing people closer to God.

Nika loves anything design. She aspires to someday own a gallery space where she can contribute and showcase artwork that teaches others about God's love. She lives in North Hollywood, California.

Trying really hard to live out the scripture "Blessed are you who are poor," Brandon is currently pursuing a career in acting. He became a christian in 2000 in NYC and moved to Los Angeles in 2005. Brandon feels excited and priveleged to put his hobby to good use for God. He enjoys fine conversation over a fine cup of joe.

John is a fan of rock'n'roll, conservative politics, and Yahweh God. He is an avid reader and thinker, who hopes to be a published author someday.

Tracy Taris

Tracy is a faithful Disciple of Christ, the wife of a musician and the mother of two beautiful daughters. She works as a therapist helping families unify through the healing power of truth. Tracy hopes to one day have a teaching and writing ministry that will help women integrate God's Word into their every day lives.
